Chute, A. G. (1980). Effect of color and monochrome versions of a film on incidental and task-relevant learning. Educational Communication & Technology, 28(1), 10-18.
Will the use of color in a film help students learn to identify basic shapes in nature and man-made objects? Will it affect learning of task-relevant and incidental information differently? This study found that color helped fourth- and fifth-grade students of all ability levels learn incidental information but affected learning of task-relevant information differently depending on ability level.
