(Conclusion.) It appears that the grade three children in this project were
able to interpret selected elements of "Band 5" black-and-white Landsat
imagery. Provided the teacher is knowledgeable and specific in instructing a
class about the different spectral signatures and shapes found on such images
and is willing to spend sufficient time teaching it, it may be tentatively concluded
that the interpretation of such imagery is within the capabilities of children
as young as grade three.
